New Children’s Book Brings the World of Badgers to Life: The Badgers of Bunger Hill

Author Martin Newbold has released his debut children’s book, The Badgers of Bunger Hill. The story introduces young readers to Boris and Hunny, two badgers whose woodland adventures spark curiosity, courage, and care for the natural world.

Drawing on Newbold’s experience as Director of Hastings Badger Protection Ltd, the book blends enchanting storytelling with authentic detail. Each illustration is based on real photographs of badgers taken in the wild, making the book both imaginative and educational.

“Badgers have always fascinated me—not only for their resilience but also for the lessons they hold about family and survival,” Newbold explains. “I wanted to create a book that entertains children while encouraging them to look more closely at the wildlife around them.”
